Introduction: Boo Boo Cookie Bear

About: I am married with two children. Spring, summer, and fall are my very favorite times of the year. I enjoy working in the yard, sewing, cooking, quilting, gardening, and creating. I do this to keep my sanity.

This Instructable was inspired by the cookie contest.  A lot of moms are cutting back on the sugar that their kids eat so I wanted to make cookies with out frosting or decorating them and this is what I came up with.  Take a plain heart shaped cookie to a whole new level by placing the cookies inside a stuffed bear or animal for the receiver. The bear can be enjoyed after the cookies have been eaten.  The child is comforted by placing a warm rice bag inside of the stuffed animal and forgets all about the boo boo while chowing down the homemade cookies.  Lets get started.

Step 1: Supplies

Small stuffed bear
Velcro
Plain homemade heart shaped cookies I used 8 Miniature cookies to fill the bear.
Ribbon to tie around bear's neck and cookies
Rice bag
Small plastic bag to wrap cookies in

Step 2: Tools

Scissors
Needle
Thread
Seam ripper

Step 3: Seam

Open the back of the bear using the seam ripper.
The seam should be open large enough to insert a small rice bag.
Sew each side of the opening to make a nice finished edge.
Secure the stitches at the beginning and the end of the opening.

Step 4: Velcro

Place the Velcro on each side of the back opening.
Either sew the Velcro or glue it to secure it.
Remove the center section of the bear's stuffing to make room for the cookies and  rice bag.

Warning: Never microwave the bear! It may catch on fire.  The rice bag is removable and is made to go in the microwave if you make it following my instructions with the link provided in step 6.

Step 5: Wrap Cookies

Wrap the cookies in a plastic bag and tie a ribbon around the top.
Place the cookies in the bear and close the back with Velcro.
Tie the ribbon around the bear's neck.

Step 6: Rice Bag Poem

Here are the instructions for the rice bag:

The Rice Bag

This little bear  filled with rice,
Is such a comforting device.
Microwave for 2 minutes on high
And kiss those aches and pains goodbye.
Apply it to the troubled spot,
The heat will ease the pain a lot.
Or warm those little toes so cold,
You'll find this nice to have and hold.
Or freeze it for a little while,
And fix that booboo up in style.
Instead of a compress made of ice,
Use this  bear filled with rice.

If you do not have a small rice bag here is an Instructable on how to make one: https://www.instructables.com/id/Head-And-Hand-Warmers-So-Warm/  .

Step 7: Sunshiine's Final Thoughts

This little Boo boo cookie bear is just the thing to soothe the spirits of any child.  While mom is microwaving the rice bag,  the child can enjoy the cookies that mom has baked. The rice bag is stored inside the Boo Boo cookie bear until the next time mom bakes cookies.

Thank you for stopping by and have a splendorous day!
