Introduction: Dream Inception Tool - Rick and Morty Prop

About: I'm a content creator. I make open source projects and videos for said projects. My goal is to create free and open knowledge for everyone.

Fan of Rick and Morty? Me too. Want the dream inception tool? Yeah, me too; so I made one. So can you!

Step 1: Watch the Video!

Step 2: Get the Parts.

The model kit is available on Shapeways and can be found here: http://shpws.me/MPyT

Needed Parts/Tools:

  • Dream Inception Model Kit - I recommend Ultrafine Detail, the model shown in this is White Acrylic.
  • Primer Paint, white
  • Modelling Paint(White, Black, Red, Green, Yellow) - Match the image colours, or use your own
  • Piece of Cardboard
  • Paint Brushes
  • Hot Glue Gun or Some type of tape to hold down the small parts.
  • CA Glue to glue the parts together at the end

Step 3: Glue Parts to Cardboard

I found this to make things easier when applying the primer.

Glue or tape each of the small parts to the board. Use something you know will be easily removed later.

Step 4: Spray on Primer.

This should make it easier to paint the small parts with modelling paint after its dry.

Step 5: Paint Individual Parts

Try to match the paint colours to the image of the screen capture. You could also just paint it any colour you want.

Step 6: Assemble and Glue

Use the CA glue to put the parts together.

Its a very simple design so there are no design guidelines. Doesn't really matter which order you glue them together, but its very straight forward. I would glue the green pieces in first, and the antenna last.

Step 7: Show It Off!

Perfect time to add a small simple prop to your Rick Halloween costume.

Enjoy!
