Introduction: Robotic Sculpture

About: I love to make useful things with the help of Scrap. Creative and Innovative one.

In this Instructable, I made a new project by transforming different metal and plastic parts to make an amazing Robotic Sculpture. This Robotic sculpture design inspired from robots shown in Sci-fi movies. Consider it a form of recycling - turning what was obsolete into something interesting and beautiful. I used different scrap material found in my small junkyard to make a new thing.

Step 1: Material Required

  • Mechanical counter wheels
  • Plastic parts
  • DC Motor gear box
  • Metal parts
  • Needle bearing
  • Double sided tape
  • LEDs
  • Battery (3.7v)
  • CPU Processor
  • Screws
  • Aluminium fibre sheet
  • Jumper wires
  • Shrink Tubes
  • Scrap parts, etc.

Tools:

  • Mini Hacksaw
  • Superglue
  • Combination plier
  • Wire stripping plier
  • Soldering Iron/ Drill machine
  • Screw Driver
  • Scissors

Step 2: Eyes

The Robot eyes consists of a plastic cover having two LEDs - Red and green attached to it. This is attached to body of the robot by making a hole on the top of the oil bottle cap with the help of Soldering and a Conical type screw is used to join the eyes part with the body of the robot.

The LEDs are connected with a 3.7v battery as shown in images. In the place of ON/OFF switch i used two jumper wires. When the jumper connected LEDs will glow.

Step 3: Arms

The Arms of the Robot consists of metal and plastic parts. The gun design inspired from Gatling gun. It consists of DC motor gear box and plastic pipes. A bundle of 7 small pipes of diameter (7mm) inserted in a plastic pipe of diameter (21mm) glued to it with the help of super glue. In this way two guns are prepared. These guns are connected with the body of robot with metallic arms.

Step 4: Body

The body consists of waste plastic of broken toy having eyes on the top of the body, a CPU processor on the front glued to it, battery on the back attached with the help of double sided tape and the arms on left and right side attached to it with the help of screws. The screws used are of different sizes. Drill holes on the different sides of the body using soldering iron or you can use drill machine.

Step 5: Stand/ Base

A Screw (length = 5cm) is used to make stand of the robot which is mounted on a piece of aluminium fibre sheet. The 4 mechanical counter wheels with tyre rubber is used to make wheels of the robot attached to the aluminium sheet with the help of copper screw used in electronic switches.

Step 6: Assembly

Assemble all the parts together. A CPU processor attached on the front of the body with the help ofBattery pasted on the back of the body with the help of double sided tape. Join the battery wires with LEDs. Attach coloured wires to it with the help of super glue to give it an aesthetic look.

Step 7: Final Look

Thanks for Watching.
