This zebra print briefcase clutch with its sleek design; is the perfect answer for those who like the looks of large bags but don't like how heavy they are. Works great for casual and dress. This clutch is designed for keys, phones, papers, and wallet or make-up-bags. It can be used as a file folder as well. This would make a great kids craft for gifts for everyone. Follow through and I will show you how it was made!

Step 1: Supplies

1 File Folder 15 3/8" wide X 11 1/2" long ( I guess that is what this is called, I bought it at Goodwill).
Clear packaging tape
2 Sided tape
Zebra print Duct tape
Wax paper
Picture of zebra I printed out a coloring page online for the zebra face.

Step 2: Tools and Optional

Computer
Printer
Marker or pen
Exact o knife optional omit if kids are making this.
Scissors
Ruler
Ribbon, handle, or flowers all optional
Cleaning cloth and alcohol optional

Disclaimer: If using the Exact o knife it is extreemely sharp and it will cut you. If making this craft with kids do not use it.

Step 3: Clean

I bought this file folder at Goodwill so I thought it was best if I cleaned it with alcohol and a cleaning cloth to make sure the tape would stick to it.

Step 4: Print

Find a zebra picture you like online or go to the link I provided and print out a copy there. If you print out one there, scroll down to the 2ND picture because it is printable BUT click on the picture to make it larger or you will get a small picture. I would print one picture and if everything is the way you like it then print out more copies. I thought this would look real cute with a picture of the zebras butt on the back of it and make a tail from braided embroidery floss. I did not do it because the picture quality of this photo was not very good. I used pixar to edit a photo and it did not turn out very well.

Print out the zebra picture.
I would print extra in case you make a mistake.

Step 5: Mark Cutting Line

Mark the cutting line. You should mark it so you will have 2 pieces. The eye section will measure 6"wide X 3 3/4"long and the nose piece should measure 6 " wide X 2 1/4" long.

I did not mark my picture like I am telling you because I was figuring it out.
Don't cut the pieces out because in the next step we are going to tape the page to wax paper and then cut it out.
If by chance you did it is OK you will be taping 2 pieces instead of one in the next step.

Step 6: Covering the Picture With Tape

Cut out the zebra picture.
Take a piece of wax paper larger than the zebra image and put it on a table.
Stick a small piece of the 2 sided tape in the center of the wax paper to hold the zebra picture in place while you tape the zebra picture to the wax paper.
Lay the zebra picture on top of the wax paper centering the zebra picture over the wax paper.
Tear off a strip of packaging tape larger the the zebra image and beginning at the top or bottom edge tape over the picture but make sure you overlap the edges so the picture attaches to the wax paper.
Repeat this across until all the picture is covered with tape.
Cut out the outline of the zebra and remove the wax paper.
Cut the zebra on your marking line.
You should have 2 pieces now that are covered with tape.

Step 7: Taping to the Brief Case

Place a piece of the 2 sided tape under the flap on the front section of the file folder.
Lay the zebra's nose section under the flap and center it between the two blue tabs.
Lightly stick it to the tape, re-position if necessary.
Next place a small piece of 2 sided tape on the top flap.
Lay the eye section on the top flap centering and matching the zebra's stripes.

Step 8: Attach

Add more 2 sided tape under the picture to keep it secure while you attach the picture sections to the file folder using the packaging tape.
Using the packaging tape; tape along the edge that overlaps the nose so it will turn under to form a nice edge.
Repeat this for the edge above the nose under the flap.

Step 9: Duct Tape

Now using the Duct tape begin forming a frame around the zebra.
Continue across the bottom section of the file folder using the duct tape.
When that is done then tape the top section.
Lastly Duct tape the back and the inside flap.

Step 10: Embellish

I did not have any embellishments that really suited this bag but I felt it needed something to set it off.
If I had purchased the file folder new; I would have bought one with red , white, or black instead of blue tabs and handles.
It would have made this bag come alive. I am not that fond of black and blue together.
I did not attach the brown purse handle to the bag because the handles were fine, but I wanted to show how pretty it looked even better if they had been a different color! It made the bag look quite classy!

Step 11: Sunshiine's Final Thoughts

I was totally surprised how cute this purse turned out! I am definitely making a few more and share them on Instructables!
