In this Instructable, I will show you how to make Amazing Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies, or Triple Chocolate Chip cookies. They are packed with chocolate, so you get that yummy chocolate taste with every bite. The cookies consist of chocolate chips, graded chocolate flakes, and then are dipped in chocolate afterwards. They are sooooo yummy! These chocolate chip cookies are easy to make. So go make some! You can watch the video tutorial, or browse the steps, or do both! Enjoy!

Ingredients:

2 1/4 cups of all purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

1 cup of butter, softened

3/4 cup of brown sugar

3/4 cup of granulated sugar

1 tsp of vanilla extract

2 large eggs

1 package (11.5 oz) of milk chocolate chips or semi-sweets or dark chocolate

4 oz (about) of your favorite chocolate bar, I am using milk chocolate hersey's

1 package (12 oz) of Light Chocolate Candy Melts (or use dark) - you can get these online, walmart, michaels, etc.

***depending on how many you want to dip you might need more candy melts.

Step 1: Add Salt and Baking Soda

First let's combine the salt and baking soda together. You can use a whisk, or use a shifter.

Step 2: Soften the Butter

Now let's soften the butter. You could leave it out in the morning at room temperature for awhile, or just go ahead and put it in the microwave for a few seconds.

Step 3: Add Vanilla and Sugar

Next, add the vanilla, brown, and granulated sugar. Then cream it all together with a mixer, or you can use a sturdy whisk.

Step 4: Scrape Sides and Add Eggs

Now we need to scrape the sides a little bit and add each egg one at a time. So add one egg, mix it in, then add the next egg and mix it in.

Step 5: Add Flour

Next we need to add our flour. Don't add it all at once, add it about a third of the time, until it is all mixed in.

Step 6: Add Chocolate Chips

Now we will mix in our package of chocolate chips. After this we will be done with the mixer, now for the fun part, licking the beaters! When I was a kid I was always excited to get to lick the beaters, I would watch as my mom cleaned off most of it, I remember thinking "Leave some on!" haha

Step 7: Grate the Chocolate Bars

Now we take a cheese grater and grate the chocolate on the small side. You will wind up with chunks at the end, just drop those in as well, be careful not to grate up your fingers! Once done, I like to put the dough in the fridge for about 30 minutes, this makes it a little easier to form the dough, however it is not a necessary step. While it is chilling I will preheat the over to 350 degrees F. Or if you are going to skip that step, preheat at the beginning.

Step 8: Form Into Balls and Bake

Next we take our dough and form little balls, and place onto a cookie sheet. I am using parchment paper. I am also using two spoons to get the dough out, but you can also use an ice cream scoop, those work great, and they make the same size cookie pretty much every time, which really helps the baking process. You don't have to worry about different size cookies cooking more or less then others. Now you bake your cookies at 350 degrees F for about 10 minutes. If you want them a little softer, take them out after 9 minutes and then let them rest for a few minutes (the will continue to cook) afterwards put them on a cookie rack. If you would like them more crunchy, back them for about 11 minutes, and then do the same thing, let them rest, then put on a rack.

Step 9: Melt Chocolate Candy Melts and Dip

For our final step we will melt our Light Chocolate Candy Melts. I am going to use the microwave and cook them on high in bursts of 25 to 30 seconds, then stir, etc, until completely melted, usually only takes about 60 to 70 seconds for this amount of chocolate. Then take a cookie and submerge it in the chocolate, using a fork, then take it out and put it on a parchment paper lined pan. If you want to do all the cookies this way, you will need more chocolate.

Step 10: Finish Dipping the Cookies

I like to dip several all the way, and then do some where I only dip part of the cookie in, and then leave some of them by themselves. Gives a great variety. Next just put them in the fridge for about 30 minutes to set. They are super tasty!

Step 11: Cost

Total cost was about 21 cents per cookie. This cost will vary depending on where you buy your ingredients, what kind of sales you can find, etc. It will also depend on how many cookies you want to fully dip in the chocolate. :)
