In this Instructable, learn how to make baked oatmeal at home. This easy homemade baked oats recipe is gluten-free as long as you use certified gluten-free oats. It is perfect for breakfast or a healthy snack throughout the day. If you like oatmeal give this recipe a try! If I can do it, you can do it. Let's get baking!

Step 1: Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of oats (90g)
  • 1 Tbsp of white granulated sugar (14g)
  • 1 tsp of ground cinnamon (2g)
  • 1/2 tsp of baking soda (2g)
  • 1/4 tsp of salt (1g)
  • 1/2 cup of milk, whole, 2%, skim, almond, etc. (118ml)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 large ripe banana
  • 1 Tbsp of honey (21g)
  • 2 to 3 Tbsp of chocolate chips, optional (28 to 42g)

Tools/Equipment:

  • Food processor or blender
  • Spatula
  • Mini bread loaf pans or 1 4x8 inch loaf pan
  • Cooking spray or shortening/butter

Step 2: Blend Those Ingredients.

Preheat the oven to 350 F/176 C.

Add the oats, sugar, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, milk, eggs, banana, and honey to a food processor or blender and blend for 20 to 30 seconds.

Easy as that, the batter is ready. Remove the lid and use a spatula to scrape the sides of the food processor bowl or blender.

Step 3: Bake and Serve

Spray two small bread loaf pans with cooking spray or use 1 4x8-inch pan. You can also use shortening or butter on the sides and bottom of the pans.

Pour the batter into each until they are equally filled. Sprinkle on the chocolate chips if you would like to use those, you can also use something like craisins or raisins. Maybe even some walnuts or pecans.

Then bake on the middle rack for 25 to 35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.

Let cool for 10 minutes or so in the pans, then remove. Serve still warm or let cool on a wire rack the rest of the way.
