Step 1: Ingredients and Tools

You can print the recipe here if you want.

Ingredients:

Vanilla Milkshake

  • 4 scoops of vanilla ice cream
  • 1/2 cup or so of whole milk (other milk can be used) (about 118ml)
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract (2ml)
  • Whipped cream (optional)

Strawberry Milkshake

  • 4 scoops of vanilla or strawberry ice cream
  • 1/2 cup or so of whole milk (or other milk) (about 118ml)
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries (frozen helps make it thicker) (about 150g)
  • 1 tbsp or so of strawberry syrup (20g)
  • Whipped cream (optional)

Chocolate Milkshake

  • 4 scoops of vanilla or chocolate ice cream
  • 1/2 cup or so of whole milk (or use other milk) (about 118ml)
  • 1 to 2 tbsp. of chocolate syrup (20 to 40g)
  • Whipped cream (optional)
  • Chocolate chips (optional)

Tools:

  • Blender
  • Spoon
  • Ice cream scoop

Note: For thicker milkshakes, don't use as much milk, or add more ice cream. :) You can also put them in the freezer for about 30 minutes to thicken up.

Step 2: Vanilla Milkshake

The basic milkshake to make is the vanilla milkshake. And then all the other flavors follow.

Start with about 4 scoops of ice cream in a blender. Then add the milk in. I usually use whole milk, but you can use other milk as well. If you want your shake to be really thick, don't pour all the milk in, only use about half of it to start.

Add in the vanilla extract for extra vanilla flavor, and then blend until smooth. If it is too runny, you can add more ice cream, or just put it in the freezer for a little while after you pour it into your glass.

Pour the shake into a glass and top it with some whipped cream if you like.

Step 3: Strawberry Milkshake

For the strawberry milkshake, again start with about 4 scoops of vanilla ice cream, or use strawberry ice cream. Add in the fresh strawberries, or you can use frozen strawberries as well. Frozen strawberries will help to make the shake thicker. To amp up that strawberry flavor also add in a bit of strawberry syrup. Follow that up with the milk and blend until smooth.

Pour it in a glass and top with whipped cream and some sliced or diced fresh strawberries if you like. Or maybe do some red sprinkles or something. Have fun with it!

Step 4: Chocolate Milkshake

For the chocolate milkshake, follow the same steps. Add the ice cream, and milk, and also add in some chocolate syrup.

If you are limited on the amount of ice cream you have, only add a tiny bit of milk and blend, then add more as necessary to make it not as thick.

Pour it in a glass, top with whipped cream, and maybe some mini chocolate chips, or some shaved chocolate or something, or maybe even some chocolate sprinkles.

Follow the same basic steps with other flavors of shakes. Some other yummy combinations are Banana milkshakes and pink milkshakes. Blueberry is another awesome one.

Enjoy your summer with some homemade milkshakes!
