Introduction: Halloween Ghost Pops

About: Hello and Welcome to In the Kitchen With Matt. I am your host Matt Taylor. My goal for the show is to teach you how to cook really good food at home for cheap. Eating out everyday can get expensive, but it doe…

In this Instructable, I will show you how to make fun Halloween Ghost Pops out of Blow pops and Tootsie Roll Pops.

When I was young, there was a lady in our neighborhood who always passed these out at Halloween. It was one of my favorite things to get, besides the lady who always gave out full-size candy bars, of course! haha.

These ghost pops are a fun craft to make as a family or make them for a Halloween party, or of course, hand them out to trick-or-treaters. They are super easy to make, if I can do it, you can do it. Happy Halloween!

Don't forget to follow me and check out my other Instructables :)

Follow the easy steps below or watch the short video tutorial or do both. :)

Step 1: Ingredients and Tools

Ingredients:

  • 20 blow pops or tootsie roll pops
  • String - I use a little thicker nylon black string, but you can use white, or other colors, ribbon, etc.
  • Tissues
  • Wiggly eyes - Optional, you may need glue for these as well.
  • Sticker eyes - if you can find these, that would be an option as well

Tools:

  • Sharpie
  • Scissors

Step 2: Wrap With Tissue

Begin by taking 1 or 2 pieces of tissue paper and putting the pop in the middle. Then fold the paper around it which will create the main body for the ghost pop.

Depending on how thick the tissue paper is, you may just need one sheet of tissue. But if it is thin, it will be see-through and you can see the lettering from the pop underneath.

Step 3: Tie

Now, take a piece of string, ribbon, etc., about 6 inches in length, and wrap it around at the base of the pop. Tie a square not, or do a bow knot, or whatever knot you want to tie. This will keep the tissue in place.

You can then flare out the bottom of the tissue so it looks like it is "flowing."

Step 4: Draw on That Face

Time to draw on the face. I love using sharpie pens. One, because that is the exact look that the lady did on hers, over 30 years ago when I still went trick or treating. Wow, time flies by, haha.

Take the sharpie and draw on two eyes and a mouth.

Alternatively, you can use sticker "eyes" or the googly wobbly craft eyes that are sold. Sometimes they have a little adhesive on them, other times you need to use a little bit of glue for them to stick.

And there you go, fun little Halloween Ghost Pops made out of Tootsie roll or Blow pops. Enjoy!
