Introduction: How to Make Twix Cups - Only 3 Ingredients!

About: Hello and Welcome to In the Kitchen With Matt. I am your host Matt Taylor. My goal for the show is to teach you how to cook really good food at home for cheap. Eating out everyday can get expensive, but it doe…

Here is a pretty easy way to make Twix cups. They look like a peanut butter cup, but taste like a Twix. It is super simple and only requires 3 ingredients. It will require more, if you make some of the ingredients from scratch. These little treats are amazing! Who doesn't like chocolate covering caramel and short bread?? A party in your mouth with every bite! :) Watch the video tutorial or follow the steps below, or do both!

Ingredients:

About 1 cup of caramels (I used the Kraft brand kind, or make your caramel from scratch)

***for a softer caramel, add 1 to 2 Tbsp of milk or cream.

1 1/2 cups of chocolate (I used 3 different kinds of chocolate for variety, white, milk, and dark. I used chocolate candy melts, you could use any chocolate though.)

**You will need more chocolate depending on how many you want to make.

1 package of short bread cookies (or make your short bread from scratch)

Step 1: Melt the Chocolate

First we line a cup cake pan with paper cups, then melt our chocolate. You can melt it in the microwave, use bursts of 30 seconds and then 20 seconds on "hi" until melted. Or you can certainly use the double boiler method.

Step 2: Fill the Bottom With Chocolate

Now we take spoonfuls of chocolate and do a layer on the bottom of the paper cups. Then shake the pan so it levels out nicely. Now put it in the fridge to set, about 10 to 20 minutes.

Step 3: Mash Up the Short Bread

Next, take a sandwich bag and put in some short bread cookies, then mash it up. You can use your fists, or a meat tenderizer, or whatever you like.

Step 4: Melt the Caramel

Now we melt our caramel. Use the same method as we did with the chocolate. We melt it in the microwave, with bursts of 30 seconds and then 20, until melted. Next we place some melted caramel in our cups on top of the chocolate.

Step 5: Add Short Bread

Now we add our shortbread crumble on top of the caramel.

Step 6: Add Chocolate

Next, we add another layer of chocolate. You can be creative if you like and add a different flavor of chocolate to the top, or keep it the same, whatever you like. Once done, let it chill in the refrigerator for 10 to 15 minutes.

Step 7: Eat Them

Finally we eat them!
